Akansha Singh is an Associate Partner at Fortune Legal Advocates & Consultants, where she leads the firm’s corporate practice in dispute resolution and transactional advisory. Her practice encompasses complex commercial litigation and arbitration, corporate and commercial advisory, project finance, banking and finance, energy and infrastructure, cross-border transactions, and direct taxation.

Over the course of her practice, Akansha has advised and represented clients across a broad range of complex commercial and corporate matters, including disputes arising from commercial contracts, financing arrangements, investments, infrastructure projects, business relationships, and regulatory obligations.

Her dispute resolution practice includes representation in high-value commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings involving contractual disputes, contractual interpretation and enforcement, claims arising from financing and investment arrangements, infrastructure and project-related disputes, banking and financial disputes, regulatory proceedings, and complex civil and commercial claims. She has handled matters involving interim and urgent relief, contractual enforcement, recovery claims, challenges to arbitral awards, enforcement proceedings, and other ancillary proceedings arising from commercial disputes.

Akansha regularly appears and represents clients before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, various Hon’ble High Courts across the country, tribunals, District Courts, and other judicial and quasi-judicial forums in complex commercial, corporate, and civil matters. Her experience extends across various stages of litigation and arbitration, including assessment and formulation of claims and defences, drafting of pleadings, applications for interim relief, evidentiary issues, conduct of arbitral proceedings, challenges to arbitral awards, and enforcement of judicial and arbitral orders.

On the transactional side, Akansha has worked on matters involving project finance, banking and finance, energy and infrastructure, and cross-border transactions. Her work includes advising on transaction structures, financing arrangements, contractual documentation, allocation of legal and commercial risks, regulatory considerations, stakeholder rights and obligations, and dispute resolution mechanisms incorporated into commercial arrangements.

Her experience in project finance and infrastructure matters includes advising on the contractual and financial frameworks governing large-scale projects, including the interaction between financing documents, commercial contracts, project obligations, regulatory requirements, and potential dispute resolution mechanisms. In banking and finance matters, she has advised on both disputes and transactional issues arising from financial arrangements, contractual obligations, recovery and enforcement, and related commercial proceedings.

Akansha has also worked on cross-border matters involving international commercial relationships and transactions, advising clients on legal issues arising from the structuring and implementation of such arrangements, together with the associated contractual, regulatory, and dispute resolution considerations.

In the area of direct taxation, she advises and represents clients in tax disputes and related proceedings, including matters requiring consideration of the underlying commercial transaction, applicable statutory provisions, contractual arrangements, and the broader implications of the tax position adopted by the parties.

A significant part of Akansha’s practice involves matters where transactional and contentious issues intersect. She advises clients on potential disputes arising from commercial arrangements, assesses contractual and regulatory exposure, and assists in developing strategies both before and after the commencement of formal proceedings. This enables her to approach disputes within the broader context of the underlying transaction, financing structure, contractual allocation of risk, and commercial relationship from which the dispute has arisen.

Her practice is focused on complex commercial matters requiring a combination of transactional understanding, dispute resolution expertise, detailed legal analysis, and strategic advisory. Her experience extends from the structuring and negotiation of commercial arrangements to litigation, arbitration, enforcement, and resolution of consequential disputes.
